Storytelling is the main force behind my cinema package. More than simply a chronicle of your wedding day it’s my goal to tell a beautiful story and capture the real personalities of the couple and their families. There are a few options to consider when choosing a cinema package that fits you best. Below you can find pricing info followed by a description and/or sample of each item, add-on or upgrade. My basic cinema package includes a Highlight Edit (hosted online and delivered as a digital file), and 2 videographers for 8 hours. Add items à la carte, or choose a premium package with additional savings.
CUSTOM DESIGN YOUR OWN PACKAGE
The “Better” package is my most popular but it may not be a perfect fit for everyone, as every wedding has its own needs. To customize your own cinema package, begin with the “Basic” and add individual items from the à la carte section. In keeping with the “Better” and “Best” package discount rates, any package over $4,050 gets 15% off, and any package over $5,080 gets 20% off. Get an additional 10% off when you combine a photo and cinema package!! Check out the wedding photography packages.
THE HIGHLIGHT EDIT (3-5 minutes)
The Highlight Edit is the core of all my wedding cinema projects, and an absolute blast to put together. I’m not content to churn out wedding videos that seem to have been made in a factory, where one couple is indistinguishable from the next. Everyone is different, and every wedding day has it’s own character. Personality and style inform the choices I make when selecting music and finding the story. I want to find what makes you unique!
THE DOCUMENTARY EDIT A+B (40-50 min. or 70-90 min.)
The Documentary Edit is a fly-on-the-wall style cut of your wedding video, starting with the early morning preparations, the ceremony, afternoon, reception, entrances, and all of the fun moments in between. It’s the raw footage edited together in a more palatable format. I always use multiple cameras for the ceremony and reception (the above clip gives examples of two and three camera setups). In the Documentary Edit all of the camera angles and audio sources are edited together like a live broadcast, for the best view of each moment. There is no music added like in a Highlight Edit; it only includes the sounds captured live.
The Documentary Edit comes in two different lengths: version “A” is between 40-50 minutes long, and version “B” is between 70-90 minutes long.
PORTRAIT FILM (5-8 minutes)
The portrait film is a chance to dial our creativity up to 11 (yes, one better than 10 lol). They capture a “day in the life” and offer a more casual look into your relationship. I love putting these together! Shot over a single day, the best way to get you guys as comfortable on-camera as possible is to go do something fun. What does an ideal summer afternoon for you look like? Typically, the portrait film is premiered at the wedding during the reception. It’s a fun way to celebrate the things that make you an awesome couple!
HIGH-DEFINITION .MP4 FILES ON A USB STICK
The standard delivery method for all of my cinema packages are high-definition digital files on a USB stick (of whatever edits you’ve selected). Please note that cinema packages do not include raw footage unless it’s added-on specifically. The Documentary Edit is essentially a polished version of the raw footage. See the FAQ section below for more info on raw footage. Please note: the files will not play back on a standard DVD or Blu Ray player, and are meant to be viewed on a computer.
PHOTOBOOTH ADD-ON
The Photobooth is so fun to shoot. More than just a way to get nice photos of all your wedding guests, the Photobooth is an event unto itself. People have a crazy time with the booth! I do it a little differently than some others; my booth is run by a professional photographer rather than a camera locked-off on a tripod. The results are much better, in my opinion. A real—and really skilled photographer—can suggest poses, arrange people in the most efficient positions, choose creative ways to frame shots, move in, move out, and generally get the most out of people. Either I run the booth, or one of my talented associate photographers will take care of it, depending on the package you’ve chosen (my responsibility is to cover the reception but if there’s a chance, I love jumping in and taking a few shots). Check out some super-fun Photobooth shots here.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Who chooses the music for the Highlight Edit and the Portrait Film? A: Music is a huge part of my creative process. It’s a storytelling tool like any other, whether it be a lens or camera angle. So while I choose the songs, it’s based on the kind of story that emerges with each wedding, and the personality of the couple. There’s also a legal issue; all of the songs used in my videos are licensed through the proper channels, and are usually by independent artists. Top 40 hits could be very, very expensive to license.
Q: Do I get the raw footage that was shot at my wedding? A: The Documentary Edit is essentially the “raw footage”, only cleaned up and nicer to watch than a folder of video clips of varying lengths. Shooting on Digital SLR cameras is not automatic, and doesn’t lend itself to a nice, clean, continuous video files. There are a lot of messy bits where the cameraman is focusing, setting exposure or even recomposing the shot, all while the camera is still rolling. The best sound source is also not necessarily the one that was recorded by the camera, but the one picked up by a wireless mic worn by the bride or groom. Multiple sound sources and camera angles are combined in the Documentary Edit, and the sloppy bits are trimmed off. That being said, the raw footage is available as an add-on to my “Better” and “Best” packages if you so desire.
Q: I want to book with you, what happens next? A: Let me know and I’ll send you a link to my online booking site. It’ll guide you through the process of selecting a package and any add-ons you’d like. My contracts are all done online as well. Eventually, I send out an online questionnaire to get all the nitty-gritty info about your wedding day. The schedule, addresses, phone numbers, etc. It’s also a guide to my process and will help you get the most out of your wedding video. If we haven’t met in person yet, let’s meet over coffee some time! I love to get to know my clients, and any insight about you and your future spouse will help me craft the best possible story!
A QUICK TESTIMONIAL
Julia sent me a lovely thank you message after I had sent her their Highlight Edit. Responses like her’s truly make my day. No, my entire year. It feels so good to create something that will stay in someone’s heart for years and years to come. She wrote: “Hi Eric. Now that I have seen the video about 20 times (and I still want to watch it more… and yes, I still cry every time I watch it lol) I can finally take a break and write you a THANK YOU email. I don’t even know how to express what I feel when I watch the video. You were able to capture the whole day in 4 minutes. That is unbelievable! We love your song choice. It fits perfectly… we love everything about it! You did an amazing job! I can not thank you enough for this. This is something that we can watch 20 years from now and still feel like it happened yesterday! Thank you! -Julia”.
