Formerly “Carly and Mark”, Roots & Crown is an awesome little folk band. Carly is a good friend of mine and does a lot of the hair and make up for my shoots. This was just a performance they put on to a tiny, tiny crowd of friends in Carly’s house.

Congratulations to Andrea and Chris! This is a selection of some of my favourite shots from the day. I’ve split the collection up into two big posts to give a good idea of the full wedding photo package; and this isn’t even 1/4th of the real deal. The ceremony was held in a little church in Elmira—very intimate. Special thanks to Ben Kane for doing a bang-up job second shooting. Jump to Part II.
Some photos from a Christmas party on December 18th, 2010. The band, Roots & Crown agreed to play the gig, having performed the previous day at Hamilton Place in front of over 1000 people. Ben Kane supplied the venue, a kick-ass loft tucked away in the side of an old factory.
Joanne Mittelholtz is the owner of Crossfit Kitchener, and one strong woman. She had the idea to make a calendar of strong, beautiful women, and donate all proceeds to Anselma House, a local women’s shelter (see: the Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region website). Ben Kane and I offered our services pro bono, and each took on the task of photographing six of the twelve women, one for each month. Special thanks to Carly Blasutti, who did make up on almost all of my shoots for the calendar.
